24th January 2004 Skiing: Melchsee-Frutt Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: cloudy Max Speed: Distance Covered: Today being saturday things were a lot busier on the mountain. I have to admire the european system of queueing if theres a gap come in from the side and fill it! We though there was gonna be a punch up in the lift queue today one of the people I was with had a boarder fly into the lift queue with a leading elbow up under his chin while all the boarders mates joined the queue, Next minute BANG! the boarder was on his back our party member had punched him square on the chin! Was ready for things to kick off but it didn't happen we waited at the top of the lift but all we got was a few sly looks, Brits 1 - 0 up The weather was a bit cloudy today and on some of the longer straight runs it was difficult to pick out the contours of the slope. A couple of the sloped started to get very cut up but was good as it formed big lumps of powder to carve round or get air off going down hill. Managed to flip a ski off today, think its time to get the bindings tightened up as Im gettin more agressive with the turns and bumps. Only one fall today and it was the ski coming off that caused that |
